Internal drainage renewal in Vic: how we plan it
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Centre Històric and Les Adoberies the original system is often still there: drum trap, lead or iron waste pipes and joints that already leak. We replace it all in bathroom and kitchen, up to the building's stack, before the new floor goes down.
Before opening the floor, in homes in areas such as El Remei, Montseny and La Guixa we mark where each fixture goes and measure the distance to the stack. From that we work out falls and diameters: the WC on its larger pipe, and basin, bidet and shower into a shared branch.
We open up only what is necessary, take out the lead and rubble with the home protected, and leave the system tested and clean, ready for flooring. We renew waste systems nearby as well: Gurb, Calldetenes and Santa Eugènia de Berga.

Frequently asked questions
01Internal drainage renewal in Vic: which areas do you cover?
We work in Vic in areas such as Centre Històric, Les Adoberies, El Remei, Montseny, La Guixa, Caputxins, Santa Clara and Horta Vermella, and also nearby: Gurb, Calldetenes and Santa Eugènia de Berga.
02What is a drum trap and why remove it?
It is a box, usually made of lead, under the bathroom floor that collects several waste pipes. It blocks and ends up giving off smells; today it is replaced by a trap on each fixture.
03Can I move the toilet or shower?
Yes, as long as there is enough fall to the soil stack. On the visit we measure the route and tell you which layout will work.
04How is this different from replacing drains?
Replacing a drain covers one specific fixture. Renewing the drainage replaces the whole internal system, from every fixture to the stack or manhole.
