How we replace doors in Vic
In 1960s to 1980s flats in areas such as Centre Històric and Les Adoberies, the original doors are sapele or varnished pine, and the frames are often still sound. Sometimes replacing just the leaf is enough; if the frame is twisted, we replace it completely.
In flats and houses in areas such as El Remei, Montseny and La Guixa, we take out the old door by cutting the frame into pieces so no plaster comes away. The new frame is fixed level and plumb with wedges and foam, and we check the leaf does not swing open or shut on its own.
