Wood floors in Torroella de Montgrí, room by room
Second homes in areas such as Torroella de Montgrí, Sobrestany and La Bolleria are often shut for months, and the wood suffers from changing humidity. We recommend stable species and finishes plus a vapour barrier under the parquet, especially on ground floors.
Before fitting parquet in flats in areas such as L'Estartit, Els Griells and Les Dunes we leave the opened boxes in the room so the wood acclimatises, as the manufacturer advises. Meanwhile we remove the old floor and level any dips in the screed.
During the visit we check the base and its moisture and talk through the format; you then receive a detailed written quote. We also fit parquet in nearby areas: L'Escala, Pals and Bellcaire d'Empordà.

Frequently asked questions
01Parquet flooring installation in Torroella de Montgrí: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Torroella de Montgrí, in areas such as Torroella de Montgrí, Sobrestany, La Bolleria, L'Estartit, Els Griells, Les Dunes, Mas Pinell and La Torre Gran, and also nearby: L'Escala, Pals and Bellcaire d'Empordà. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can parquet go over underfloor heating?
Yes, with a stable, fairly thin board, usually engineered wood glued down, and a dry screed. The heating must have completed its start-up cycle first.
03Floating or glued-down parquet?
Floating boards sit on an underlay and are easier to replace; glued-down boards transmit less footstep noise and feel more solid. We decide based on the base, format and use.
04Does the wood need to sit in the home before fitting?
Yes. It should acclimatise in the room, as the manufacturer specifies, so it does not move later with changes in humidity.
