What changes with a new waste system
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís and Antic Poble de Sant Pere the original system is often still there: drum trap, lead or iron waste pipes and joints that already leak. We replace it all in bathroom and kitchen, up to the building's stack, before the new floor goes down.
The connection to the stack is the delicate part: in buildings in areas such as Ca n'Anglada, Torre-sana and Montserrat we find cast iron, fibre cement or old PVC, and use the right adaptor for each. If the system has no venting, we add an air admittance valve.
