What we look at before the first tile goes down
Town-centre flats in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís and Antic Poble de Sant Pere, mostly from the 1960s to 80s, still have terrazzo or ceramic tiles from the period. Where the base is sound, porcelain can go on top; if it sounds hollow, we lift it and level with self-levelling compound.
With large formats, increasingly requested in areas such as Ca n'Anglada, Torre-sana and Montserrat, adhesive goes on both the floor and the back of the tile, and we use levelling clips. That leaves no voids underneath and no lipping between neighbouring tiles.
During the visit we look at the tile, measure the area and check the base, then give you a detailed written quote. We also lay porcelain in nearby areas: Sabadell, Rubí and Castellar del Vallès.

Frequently asked questions
01Porcelain floor tiling in Terrassa: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Terrassa, in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís, Antic Poble de Sant Pere, Ca n'Anglada, Torre-sana, Montserrat, Vilardell and Ca n'Aurell, and also nearby: Sabadell, Rubí and Castellar del Vallès. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can porcelain go over the old floor?
Often, yes, if the current floor is solid and flat. Door heights and thresholds with other rooms need checking, and we look at both during the visit.
03What does large-format porcelain need?
A very flat base, double-spread adhesive and levelling clips. Big tiles mean fewer joints, but the setting out and cutting have to be more precise.
04Can the same tile run from the living room to the terrace?
Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.
