In 1960s to 80s blocks in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís and Antic Poble de Sant Pere, pigeons settle on balconies with empty planters, under air-conditioning units and on window sills. We protect each spot with spikes or wires and clear away the droppings that have built up.
Netting in areas such as Ca n'Anglada, Torre-sana and Montserrat is mounted on a tensioned steel perimeter cable anchored to the building at short intervals. We use pigeon-gauge mesh in a neutral colour and leave zips or removable sections wherever access is needed for checks.
