Town-centre flats in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís and Antic Poble de Sant Pere, mostly from the 1960s to 80s, tend to have cracked plaster ceilings and one light per room. Dropping the ceiling a few centimetres lets us spread the light with downlights and cover cracks without hacking off old plaster.
