Why showers start to leak
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Centre, Vallparadís and Antic Poble de Sant Pere the tray is usually bedded in mortar over old bitumen felt that has broken down, or with nothing at all. We lift the tray and the shower tiling and lay a new membrane that laps onto the walls.
For level-access showers in areas such as Ca n'Anglada, Torre-sana and Montserrat we rebuild the screed with a continuous fall to the drain or linear channel, with no spots where water can sit. The membrane goes under the tile adhesive and bonds to the drain with its own connection collar.
