What changes with a new waste system
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Les Delícies, Les Nogueres and El Paradís the original system is often still there: drum trap, lead or iron waste pipes and joints that already leak. We replace it all in bathroom and kitchen, up to the building's stack, before the new floor goes down.
Before closing up, in homes in areas such as La Molassa, Vallvallida and La Vinya we run water through every fixture and check all the joints. Where pipes pass through a ceiling void above a neighbour, we wrap them in acoustic insulation so the water cannot be heard.
