From loft to room: how we go about it
In detached and terraced houses in areas such as Les Delícies, Les Nogueres and El Paradís the loft often goes unused, with an uninsulated roof letting in the winter cold. Insulating under the roof improves the whole house and turns that space into a habitable room.
In attics in areas such as La Molassa, Vallvallida and La Vinya we use the low areas for made-to-measure cupboards and drawers under the slope, and adapt the staircase so it is easy to climb. Sockets, lighting and air-conditioning pre-installation run inside the lining, with no visible cables.
