What we check before taking out a bath
In 1960s–80s flats in areas such as Les Delícies, Les Nogueres and El Paradís a 1.60 m bath with a built-in front and period tiles around it is common. Once it is out we use the full length for a roomy tray and close the wall with a panel or tiles that go with the existing ones.
In bathrooms in areas such as La Molassa, Vallvallida and La Vinya the wall left by the bath is made good with salvaged tiles, a similar ceramic or a large decorative panel that covers the wet zone with no grout lines. It is a good moment to add a thermostatic shower column or a recessed niche for bottles.
