When do the water pipes need replacing?

  • Cloudy or rust-coloured water
  • Lead or galvanised iron pipes
  • Pressure drops with two taps on
  • Repeated leaks in different places

What the pipe replacement includes

  • Pipework assessment

We identify lead, iron or old copper and mark which sections to replace.

  • Multilayer or PEX pipe

Modern material with no rust or scale build-up, suitable for drinking water.

  • Riser and distribution

From the meter valve to the kitchen, bathrooms and utility area.

  • New main stopcock

A reliable shut-off for the whole home, in an easy-to-reach place.

  • Hot water insulation

Pipe lagging on the hot water runs to reduce heat loss.

  • Walls closed up

Chases filled and smooth, or neatly fixed surface pipework if you prefer.

How we replace the pipes

On the visit we see what the pipes are made of, where they run and the state of the main stopcock. We propose the new route and set it out in a detailed written quote.

We work section by section so you are without water for as little time as possible. We remove or disconnect the old pipe and fit the new one with its isolation valves and hot water insulation.

When we finish, we pressure-test the system, fill the chases and check the flow at every tap.

Frequently asked questions

01

Why replace lead pipes?

Lead can leach into drinking water and is no longer installed today. It is also usually old pipework, with joints that fail easily.

02

Do all the walls have to be opened up?

Not always. Depending on the home, we run the pipe through the false ceiling, the floor or short chases. On the visit we explain the route that involves the least building work.

03

Is the section up to the meter replaced too?

Yes, the riser from the meter to your home can also be replaced. If it runs through communal areas, we coordinate with the owners' association.

04

How much does a complete renovation cost?

There is no single price. The estimate depends on the condition and size of the home, the scope of the project, materials and work required. Tell us your idea so we can assess your specific case.

05

How long does a renovation take?

It depends on the type of home, the scope of the work and the project's constraints. Once we have studied the renovation, we can give you a more accurate estimate.

06

Can a home be renovated while people still live in it?

It depends on the scope, estimated duration and condition of the home. When we study the project, we will assess whether it is feasible and what precautions or alternatives should be considered.

07

How can I request an estimate?

Choose what you want to renovate, tell us whether the work is partial or complete, and leave your name, phone number and email. This lets us provide initial guidance. You can also write to us directly on WhatsApp.
