How we prepare walls before painting
In areas such as Centre, Poble Sec and Els Ametllers we paint many holiday homes and flats that stay shut for months. When they reopen there are damp stains, a musty smell and flaking paint, so we check every wall, strip back anything loose and use finishes that are easy to maintain.
When we paint in areas such as Sant Sebastià, Aiguadolç and Terramar we start with the ceilings and move on to the walls, cutting in by hand around skirting boards, frames and sockets. We only use tape where it is needed and peel it off while the paint is still wet for a clean edge.
