What we check before lifting the floor
In 1960s to 80s flats in town centres, in areas such as Centre and Poble Nou, we usually install it when the whole floor is being replaced. We remove the old tiles and their bed, level the slab and so recover part of the height the system needs.
The system is adjusted to the floor finish chosen in homes in areas such as Can Camps, Can Ferragut and Can Mallador: ceramic and porcelain tiles conduct best, while wood or vinyl must be rated for underfloor heating. The first start-up is gradual, once the screed is dry.
