In village houses in areas such as Església, Ajuntament and Cavallers it is common to find old timber beams, some with woodworm or damp bearings in the walls. We check them one by one, treat sound timber and strengthen or replace only the pieces that need it.
For insulation, in houses in areas such as Sant Antoni, Montserrat and Diputació we choose between mineral wool between the rafters, rigid boards below them or a mix of both, depending on how much headroom can be given up. We close it with a vapour barrier and plasterboard or timber lining.
