In houses and terraces in areas such as Església, Ajuntament and Cavallers, where winters are colder, a suspended ceiling on the top floor is a good chance to insulate: a thick layer of mineral wool in the void and a vapour barrier against condensation.
Hangers are anchored to the slab with fixings suited to each type of floor, which matters in buildings in areas such as Sant Antoni, Montserrat and Diputació with clay block slabs. The main and cross channels then go up at the spacing the board requires.
