What we check on a façade before painting it
On houses and terraced homes in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell and El Veïnat the plinth draws damp from the ground and paint blisters low down. We treat it separately with breathable mortar and paint, then paint the rest of the façade, eaves and grilles.
For houses and residential buildings in areas such as La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó the paint depends on the substrate: silicate on mineral render, siloxane where there is damp, acrylic over earlier plastic paints. That way the wall breathes and no blisters appear.
We have been painting and repairing façades for over 20 years; after the visit, the community receives a written quote ready for its meeting. We also cover nearby areas: Girona, Sant Gregori and Vilablareix.

Frequently asked questions
01Façade painting in Salt: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Salt, in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell, El Veïnat, La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó, and also nearby: Girona, Sant Gregori and Vilablareix. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02What paint do you use on façades?
Usually silicate, siloxane or acrylic exterior paint, depending on the substrate. It must be breathable so moisture in the wall can escape without causing blisters.
03Is scaffolding needed to paint a façade?
It depends on the height and access. Low houses only need a scaffold tower or a platform; for buildings with lightwells or on narrow streets we often use rope access.
04Can the residents' community choose the colour?
Yes. We apply samples on the façade itself so residents can see them in real light. It is worth checking whether the town council sets colours for that area.
