What we look at before the first tile goes down
In houses and terraces in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell and El Veïnat more and more clients are fitting underfloor heating. Porcelain works very well over it: we lay it with flexible adhesive and respect the screed's movement joints so no cracks appear.
With large formats, increasingly requested in areas such as La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó, adhesive goes on both the floor and the back of the tile, and we use levelling clips. That leaves no voids underneath and no lipping between neighbouring tiles.
More than 20 years in renovation help us foresee how each base will behave; the written quote breaks down every item. We work in nearby areas too: Girona, Sant Gregori and Vilablareix.

Frequently asked questions
01Porcelain floor tiling in Salt: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Salt, in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell, El Veïnat, La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó, and also nearby: Girona, Sant Gregori and Vilablareix. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can porcelain go over the old floor?
Often, yes, if the current floor is solid and flat. Door heights and thresholds with other rooms need checking, and we look at both during the visit.
03What does large-format porcelain need?
A very flat base, double-spread adhesive and levelling clips. Big tiles mean fewer joints, but the setting out and cutting have to be more precise.
04Can the same tile run from the living room to the terrace?
Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.
