Before the parquet boxes are opened: what we measure
In houses and terraces in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell and El Veïnat, with cold winters, parquet often goes over underfloor heating. We use thin, glued engineered boards and wait for the heating to complete its commissioning cycle before fitting.
For floating floors in homes in areas such as La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó, the boards sit on an underlay with a vapour barrier and are left free around the edges. That gap is hidden under the skirting, with profiles at doorways so the wood can move without lifting.
