Before fitting the pump: what we measure
In areas such as Centre, Barri Vell and El Veïnat, where it freezes in winter, a pump in an unheated garage or an outdoor housing can suffer in a frost. We insulate pipes and unit and leave drain valves for periods when the house is empty.
In areas such as La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó we usually recommend variable-speed sets: the pump runs only as fast as needed, pressure stays constant and there is no water hammer when a tap closes. On units with a pressure vessel we check and set the pre-charge.
