From fixing point to handrail: how we approach it
In houses and terraced homes in areas such as Centre, Barri Vell and El Veïnat, most requests are for indoor stair and mezzanine railings and garden handrails. We choose side or top fixing to suit the staircase, with timber or metal handrails that feel good in the hand.
On staircases in homes in areas such as La Massana, Barri dels Escriptors and Mas Masó we measure every flight and landing, as the pitch is rarely the same all the way up. The handrail follows the slope without steps and the ends are rounded so nothing catches on them.
After the visit and written quote we install the railing with floors and façade protected, then push-test it before we leave. We also cover the surrounding area: Girona, Sant Gregori and Vilablareix.

It depends on the existing fixings. If the base is sound, we reuse the same points or fix to the edge of the slab; if it is rusted or cracked, we repair it before fitting the new railing.
