From hood to duct: how we fit it
In houses and terraced homes, the duct often goes out through the roof or an outside wall. We insulate the section that runs through cold spaces and fit a cowl or grille with a damper, so winter air does not blow in (the norm in Barri del Castell, Barri del Sant Crist and Barri de la Cisa).
The duct decides how well the hood extracts: we use rigid duct matching the motor outlet, with as few bends as possible and joints sealed with aluminium tape. That cuts noise and stops grease building up.
