Wood floors in Palau-solità i Plegamans, room by room
Town-centre flats in areas such as Palau-solità, Plegamans and El Castell, mostly from the 1960s to 80s, often have terrazzo or well-worn strip parquet. Depending on its state we sand it or replace it, laying new wood over the terrazzo when it is sound.
For floating floors in homes in areas such as Les Cases Noves, La Sagrera and Can Riera, the boards sit on an underlay with a vapour barrier and are left free around the edges. That gap is hidden under the skirting, with profiles at doorways so the wood can move without lifting.
With more than 20 years in renovation we know how wood behaves in different homes; the written quote details materials and fitting. Nearby areas we also work in: Mollet del Vallès, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda and Caldes de Montbui.

Frequently asked questions
01Parquet flooring installation in Palau-solità i Plegamans: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Palau-solità i Plegamans, in areas such as Palau-solità, Plegamans, El Castell, Les Cases Noves, La Sagrera, Can Riera, La Tenda Nova and La Pineda, and also nearby: Mollet del Vallès, Santa Perpètua de Mogoda and Caldes de Montbui. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Can parquet go over underfloor heating?
Yes, with a stable, fairly thin board, usually engineered wood glued down, and a dry screed. The heating must have completed its start-up cycle first.
03Floating or glued-down parquet?
Floating boards sit on an underlay and are easier to replace; glued-down boards transmit less footstep noise and feel more solid. We decide based on the base, format and use.
04Does the wood need to sit in the home before fitting?
Yes. It should acclimatise in the room, as the manufacturer specifies, so it does not move later with changes in humidity.
