Porcelain floors in Olot: the subfloors we work with
Town-centre flats in areas such as Vila Vella and Eixample Malagrida, mostly from the 1960s to 80s, still have terrazzo or ceramic tiles from the period. Where the base is sound, porcelain can go on top; if it sounds hollow, we lift it and level with self-levelling compound.
With large formats, increasingly requested in areas such as Sant Miquel, Bonavista and Pla de Dalt, adhesive goes on both the floor and the back of the tile, and we use levelling clips. That leaves no voids underneath and no lipping between neighbouring tiles.

Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.
