Old sealant, new joint: what we check at height
In areas such as Centre, Sant Bernat and Poble Sec, with winters that can be cold and hot summers, façades expand and contract a great deal, and rigid sealant ends up breaking. We choose polyurethane or MS polymer sealants that take up that movement.
On façades in areas such as Les Planes, El Collet de Sant Joan and Els Closos, we fit foam backer rod of the right diameter so the sealant has the correct depth and bonds only to the sides. Where the joint is shallow, we use a bond-breaker tape at the back instead.
We check the joints from outside and the damp from inside, and give you a detailed written quote, per vertical drop or for the whole façade. We also seal joints in nearby areas: Esparreguera, Abrera and Vacarisses.
