Before enclosing the terrace: what we check
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Nucli antic, Barri de Dalt and La Doma, the enclosure usually sits on the existing balustrade. We check it is firm and well anchored; if not, we replace it with a profile or low wall that can carry the enclosure's weight.
If you want to keep out cold and noise, in areas such as Barri de Montserrat, Barri Querol and Can Terrers we suggest thermally broken aluminium sliders with double glazing. We use a sub-frame or direct fixing to suit the support and seal with neutral silicone inside and out.

Yes. Depending on its condition, the enclosure is fixed on top of the balustrade or the balustrade is replaced by a low wall or bottom profile that acts as a base.
