What shapes the design of a bespoke piece
In areas such as Nucli antic, Barri de Dalt and La Doma, with cold winters and the heating on for months, solid timber shrinks and moves. So we use solid wood on visible parts and stable board for carcasses and shelves, and leave expansion gaps.
When fitting in areas such as Barri de Montserrat, Barri Querol and Can Terrers we fix carcasses to the wall with anchors suited to the substrate, scribe the filler pieces to walls and ceiling and hide screws behind caps in the same finish.
