From old tiles to a clean splashback
With cold winters, closed kitchens get condensation on outside walls and the grout ends up mouldy. We recommend tiling those walls in full with mould-resistant grout and checking the cooker hood outlet (a regular issue in Nucli antic, Barri de Dalt and La Doma).
Behind the hob we recommend narrow joints with epoxy or high-performance grout, which does not absorb grease and wipes clean with a cloth. With thin porcelain or large-format tiles we keep the number of joints to a minimum.
