When should you switch to porcelain?

  • Cracked or hollow-sounding tiles
  • Worn terrazzo or old ceramic
  • You want one floor throughout
  • Slippery terrace floor

What porcelain tiling includes

  • Removing the old floor

We lift the existing floor, or tile over it if it is sound.

  • Levelling the base

Self-levelling compound wherever the screed is not flat.

  • Setting out the layout

Cuts and joints planned so the tiles look balanced in each room.

  • Double-spread adhesive

Flexible adhesive on floor and tile, with no voids underneath.

  • Large format, no lippage

Levelling clips keep big tiles perfectly flush.

  • Grout and skirting

Movement joints, grout in your chosen colour and matching skirting.

How we lay porcelain

We visit the property, check how flat the base is and how much clearance the doors have, and look at the tile you have chosen. From there we prepare a detailed written quote.

The site manager organises removal of the old floor, levelling and setting out. The tilers lay with double-spread adhesive and clips, room by room.

Finally we grout, fit the skirting and clean off any adhesive, leaving the floor ready for furniture.

Frequently asked questions

01

Can porcelain go over the old floor?

Often, yes, if the current floor is solid and flat. Door heights and thresholds with other rooms need checking, and we look at both during the visit.

02

What does large-format porcelain need?

A very flat base, double-spread adhesive and levelling clips. Big tiles mean fewer joints, but the setting out and cutting have to be more precise.

03

Can the same tile run from the living room to the terrace?

Only if the range has an outdoor non-slip version with the slip rating the CTE requires. Many collections offer both, so the floor can flow outside.

04

How much does a complete renovation cost?

There is no single price. The estimate depends on the condition and size of the home, the scope of the project, materials and work required. Tell us your idea so we can assess your specific case.

05

How long does a renovation take?

It depends on the type of home, the scope of the work and the project's constraints. Once we have studied the renovation, we can give you a more accurate estimate.

06

Can a home be renovated while people still live in it?

It depends on the scope, estimated duration and condition of the home. When we study the project, we will assess whether it is feasible and what precautions or alternatives should be considered.

07

How can I request an estimate?

Choose what you want to renovate, tell us whether the work is partial or complete, and leave your name, phone number and email. This lets us provide initial guidance. You can also write to us directly on WhatsApp.
