How we replace a soil stack in Igualada
In houses and terraced homes in areas such as Centre, El Rec and Sant Agustí, the stack usually runs through the floors inside a cupboard or partition and ends at an inspection chamber in the basement or garden. We check the full run and add access points at changes of direction.
In buildings in areas such as Fàtima, Montserrat and Set Camins, we work from the bottom up: first the section into the collector, then each floor with its branch connection. The stack stays in use and each home spends as little time as possible without drainage.
A site manager coordinates access to each floor with neighbours and the property manager and, when we finish, we clean ducts, stairs and communal areas. We also work on buildings nearby: Òdena, Vilanova del Camí and Santa Margarida de Montbui.

Frequently asked questions
01Soil stack replacement in Igualada: which areas do you cover?
We work in Igualada in areas such as Centre, El Rec, Sant Agustí, Fàtima, Montserrat, Set Camins, Sant Crist and Pla de la Massa, and also nearby: Òdena, Vilanova del Camí and Santa Margarida de Montbui.
02Is the stack mine or the building's?
The main stack is usually a communal element, while each home's branches are private. If the main stack needs replacing, we discuss it with the owners' association or the property manager.
03Do you need to get into every flat?
To replace the whole stack, yes: the work goes floor by floor, through the service duct or partition in each home. We coordinate access with the neighbours and give notice in advance.
04Why acoustic PVC?
It reduces the noise of waste water heard through the wall, which is common with standard PVC or old cast iron stacks.
