Gaining space with a sliding door in Girona
In 1960s to 80s flats in areas such as Barri Vell and Mercadal, the original varnished timber doors on small bathrooms and bedrooms are often swapped for painted sliders. We check the partition, usually hollow brick, and open it only to the width of the leaf.
For bathrooms and bedrooms in areas such as Eixample, Sant Narcís and Montilivi we fit a privacy lock with outside release, flush pulls and brush seals on the edges. The slider then closes discreetly and cuts more noise from the hallway.
