How we tile a kitchen splashback in Esparreguera
In 1960s–80s flats the kitchen often keeps its original tiles up to the ceiling. To update it we either remove only the area between units and paint the rest with washable paint, or retile the whole wall in a new format (frequent in areas such as La Plana, Pau Font and La Creu).
Behind the hob we recommend narrow joints with epoxy or high-performance grout, which does not absorb grease and wipes clean with a cloth. With thin porcelain or large-format tiles we keep the number of joints to a minimum.
