How we plaster and skim
We visit the property and tap and measure the walls to find hollow plaster or out-of-plumb areas. The detailed written quote lists each wall and the treatment it needs.
The team removes loose plaster, applies a bonding coat and fixes screeds and angle beads. The walls are then plastered and given one or two fine skim coats, sanded between coats.
To finish, we apply sealer, check each wall under raking light and leave the room clean and ready to paint.

Frequently asked questions
01What is the difference between plastering and skimming?
Plastering is a coat of gypsum that corrects out-of-plumb walls and leaves brick or old plaster flat. Skimming is a thin coat that removes roughness from a wall that is already flat.
02When can a freshly plastered wall be painted?
Once the plaster is completely dry, which depends on its thickness, ventilation and the time of year. Before painting we apply a sealer so the paint takes evenly across the surface.
03Can a wall with cracks be skimmed?
Yes, but first we open up and fill the cracks and, if they are movement cracks, we embed mesh so they do not show through again.
04How much does a complete renovation cost?
There is no single price. The estimate depends on the condition and size of the home, the scope of the project, materials and work required. Tell us your idea so we can assess your specific case.
05How long does a renovation take?
It depends on the type of home, the scope of the work and the project's constraints. Once we have studied the renovation, we can give you a more accurate estimate.
06Can a home be renovated while people still live in it?
It depends on the scope, estimated duration and condition of the home. When we study the project, we will assess whether it is feasible and what precautions or alternatives should be considered.
07How can I request an estimate?
Choose what you want to renovate, tell us whether the work is partial or complete, and leave your name, phone number and email. This lets us provide initial guidance. You can also write to us directly on WhatsApp.
