Shower waterproofing in El Prat de Llobregat.
We stop shower leaks in El Prat de Llobregat at the base: a continuous membrane, falls towards the waste and a water test before the finish, so the ceiling below can dry out.
5/5 · Google reviewsWhen does a shower need waterproofing?
- A stain on the ceiling below
- Damp on the adjoining wall
- Tiles coming loose in the shower
- Grout that darkens quickly
What shower waterproofing includes
-
Source of the leak
We find out whether water escapes through grout, waste or pipework before opening up.
-
Opening up the area
We lift the tray and shower tiles, leaving the rest of the bathroom alone.
-
Falls to the drain
We rebuild the base so water runs to the waste and never sits.
-
Continuous membrane
Membrane across floor and walls, with tape at corners, pipes and drain.
-
Flood test
We flood the base and check for any loss before closing it up.
-
New finish
Tray or tiles laid on top, with epoxy or mould-resistant grout.
Shower leaks in El Prat de Llobregat: what we check first
In second homes and houses on residential estates in areas such as Centre and Eixample Sud a leak is often found on returning after months away, with the plaster already blown. We trace the source, waterproof the shower and can arrange access with a key-holder if you are not around.
In areas such as Sant Cosme, Sant Jordi - Ribera Baixa and La Granja we use liquid or sheet membrane depending on the substrate, with reinforcing tape at corners, around the drain and at every pipe. The waterproofing runs up the wall as high as the shower spray reaches.
After the visit you get a written quote setting out each stage of the waterproofing. We protect the rest of the bathroom, clear the rubble and leave it clean. Other nearby areas we cover: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat and Sant Boi de Llobregat.

Frequently asked questions
01Shower waterproofing in El Prat de Llobregat: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in El Prat de Llobregat, in areas such as Centre, Eixample Sud, Sant Cosme, Sant Jordi - Ribera Baixa, La Granja, Jardins de la Pau, Les Palmeres and La Barceloneta, and also nearby: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà de Llobregat and Sant Boi de Llobregat. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02Is replacing the grout enough to stop the leak?
Only if the grout is the problem and the membrane underneath is sound. If water has already reached the floor slab, the shower has to be lifted and waterproofed again.
03What is a flood test?
We plug the drain and fill the waterproofed base with water. If the level holds and no damp appears below, the finish can go on.
04Does a tiled walk-in shower need more care than one with a tray?
Yes. Without a tray, the membrane and falls are all that hold the water back, so they must cover the whole floor and run up the walls.
