What we check before the first plank clicks in
Holiday lets in areas such as Nucli antic, Puig Mercadal and Castelló Nou see heavy footfall, suitcases and sand. We recommend AC5 or a good-quality AC4, plus moisture-resistant MDF skirting that stands up to mopping.
In houses and flats in areas such as Port Grec, Gran Reserva and Salins the skirting is fixed to the wall, not the floor, so the laminate can expand. We use lacquered MDF or a board matching the planks, with mitred corners and sealed joints.
