Before the parquet boxes are opened: what we measure
Second homes in areas such as Nucli antic, Puig Mercadal and Castelló Nou are often shut for months, and the wood suffers from changing humidity. We recommend stable species and finishes plus a vapour barrier under the parquet, especially on ground floors.
When we lay solid parquet in houses in areas such as Port Grec, Gran Reserva and Salins, we then sand it in several passes, vacuum thoroughly and apply varnish or oil. A light sand between coats keeps the finish even to the touch.
