Open-plan kitchen renovation in Cardedeu.
We join kitchen and living room in Cardedeu into one brighter space, with a breakfast bar or island to gather round and flooring that runs through without a break.
5/5 · Google reviewsWhen does an open-plan kitchen make sense?
- Closed kitchen with no daylight
- You cook cut off from everyone
- A hallway eating up space
- No room for a family dining table
What opening up the kitchen includes
-
Wall assessment
We check whether it is load-bearing and, if so, an engineer specifies the beam or support.
-
Removal and making good
We take the wall down and repair ceiling and walls with no trace of the old partition.
-
Island or peninsula
A worktop or breakfast bar that defines each zone without closing the space.
-
Continuous flooring
The same floor in the kitchen and living room, level and without steps.
-
Effective extraction
A hood ducted outside so cooking smells stay out of the living area.
-
Zoned lighting
Separate circuits for kitchen, bar and living room, with spotlights and pendants.
Open-plan kitchens in Cardedeu: what we check
In areas such as La Creu, La Riera and El Poble-sec, where winters are cold, joining kitchen and living room changes how heat is spread. We review radiators or air conditioning for the new single space and size the hood to the total volume.
In areas such as L'Estalvi and La Granada we size the cooker hood to the open-plan space and centre it over the hob, with the duct hidden in the suspended ceiling all the way to the outside.
On the visit we examine the wall and the services running through it, then send a detailed written quote; a site manager coordinates demolition, services and fitting. We also work in nearby areas: Les Franqueses del Vallès, La Roca del Vallès and Llinars del Vallès.

Frequently asked questions
01Open-plan kitchen renovation in Cardedeu: which areas do you cover?
We do this work in Cardedeu, in areas such as La Creu, La Riera, El Poble-sec, L'Estalvi, La Granada, Bellavista, Les Canyes and Can Corbella, and also nearby: Les Franqueses del Vallès, La Roca del Vallès and Llinars del Vallès. Before starting we visit the property and prepare a detailed written quote.
02How do I know if the kitchen wall is load-bearing?
We check during the visit: joist direction, wall thickness and plans, if there are any. If there is any doubt, an engineer assesses it before anything is touched.
03Won't cooking smells reach the living room?
Not with a properly sized hood ducted outside. We choose it for the volume of the open space and centre it over the hob.
04Can the existing living-room floor be kept?
If it is in good condition and at the same level, yes: we fill the strip left by the wall with matching or similar tiles. If none are available, we suggest a new continuous floor.
