When a terrace leaks: what we check
In areas such as Capaspre and Les Roques there are many holiday homes, and a leak can go unnoticed for months until it stains the ceiling below. We check outlets, joints and wall junctions so the terrace is ready for long periods with nobody there.
In areas such as Dalt de Calella, Sant Quirze and Valldengulí we usually waterproof with bitumen membrane or reinforced liquid membrane, always continuous. We take it at least 20 cm up walls and parapets above the finished floor and protect it under door thresholds, where we find most leaks.
