Underfloor heating in Cabrils: height, structure and equipment
In 1960s to 80s flats in town centres, in areas such as La Sagrera, El Sant Crist and L'Eixample, we usually install it when the whole floor is being replaced. We remove the old tiles and their bed, level the slab and so recover part of the height the system needs.
In homes in areas such as Can Cabot, Can Tolrà and Santa Helena we start with the perimeter strip and insulation boards, with no gaps between them. On top we lay the pipe in a spiral, closer together near large windows and outside walls, where the home loses most heat.
