Old sealant, new joint: what we check at height
On houses on residential estates in areas such as Can Segarra, Sant Sebastià and Domènec, the joints that fail most are around large windows, terraces and wall-to-slab junctions. We check each one and remake it with backer rod and elastic sealant.
Before sealing on buildings in areas such as Agell de Dalt, Agell de Baix and Pla de l'Avellà, we prime the edges to suit the substrate: concrete, stone, aluminium or PVC. Then we gun in the sealant, tool it smooth and peel off the masking tape.
A site manager coordinates the rope access team with the residents and, when we finish, we remove sealant offcuts and tape from the façade and pavement. We also travel to the surrounding areas: Argentona, Cabrils and Vilassar de Mar.
