Before the parquet boxes are opened: what we measure
Near the sea, in areas such as Nucli antic, Les Arenes and Mas d'en Pinc, humid air makes wood move more. We favour engineered boards, which are more stable, check the screed with a moisture meter and leave slightly wider perimeter gaps.
For herringbone or chevron, increasingly requested in areas such as Sa Riera, Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna, we set out the axes from the centre of the room so the pattern is symmetrical and cuts are spread along the edges. These blocks are always glued down.
