Which worktop suits which kitchen
In buildings in areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta, the noise and dust from cutting stone bother the neighbours. Whenever possible we bring the cut-outs ready made, do final adjustments with dust extraction and work within the community's hours.
Quartz and porcelain weigh far more than laminate. In kitchens in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we check the unit sides and legs, add bracing where needed and, with thin porcelain, leave continuous support under the whole piece.

Porcelain and granite handle heat and scratches well. Quartz is very hard-wearing, though it is wise not to put pans on it straight from the hob. During the visit we compare options with the way you cook.
04Does the tiled splashback have to change too?
Not always. If the new thickness leaves a visible strip, or tiles break when the old worktop comes off, we finish it with an upstand or splashback in the same material.
