Older flats in areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta often have high ceilings with cornices, timber doors and encaustic tiles, sometimes hidden under later flooring. On the visit we open small test holes to see what lies underneath and decide with you what to restore.
When a salvageable encaustic tile floor turns up in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we clean it, relay loose tiles and polish it. If it cannot stay whole, we reuse the sound tiles in a single room or as a rug-style panel in the living room.

03What happens if surprises turn up when walls or ceilings are opened?
It is common in an older flat. We check everything visible before quoting and, if something hidden appears, such as a damaged beam, we show it to you and add it to the written quote before carrying on.
