What we check on a façade before painting it
In areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta the decision rests with the community meeting, so we paint colour samples on the façade itself and prepare a quote that is easy to present to neighbours. Before cleaning we protect the pavement, awnings and each flat's windows.
On façades in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we hand-finish mouldings, cornices, eaves and balcony edges, and sand and coat railings and grilles with anti-rust enamel. Large sections are rollered in two cross coats.
A site manager coordinates the scaffolding or rope access, and at the end we remove protection and clean the pavement and balconies. We also work nearby: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat and Sant Cugat del Vallès.

02What paint do you use on façades?
Usually silicate, siloxane or acrylic exterior paint, depending on the substrate. It must be breathable so moisture in the wall can escape without causing blisters.
03Is scaffolding needed to paint a façade?
It depends on the height and access. Low houses only need a scaffold tower or a platform; for buildings with lightwells or on narrow streets we often use rope access.
04Can the residents' community choose the colour?
Yes. We apply samples on the façade itself so residents can see them in real light. It is worth checking whether the town council sets colours for that area.
