What we check before rewiring
In shared buildings in areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta, the old fuse box usually sits by the front door in a tight recess. We find an accessible spot for the new consumer unit, protect the landing and take chasing debris down in sealed bags.
When a flat stays occupied, as often happens in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we work room by room and leave temporary lighting and sockets at the end of each day. The consumer unit is changed last, with only a short power cut.
A site manager coordinates the electricians, and at the end of each day we clear up the dust from chasing. Other areas we cover nearby: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat and Sant Cugat del Vallès.

Yes, in most cases. We work room by room and leave power on at the end of each day. There are only a few hours without supply on the day the new consumer unit is connected.
