Internal doors in flats and houses: what we consider
In 1960s and 70s buildings in areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta, lifts and staircases are tight for carrying up door leaves and frames. We bring the doors up wrapped, protect the entrance hall and remove the old ones within the hours set by the residents' association.
In areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni, we measure the thickness of every wall before ordering frames, because a partition and a load-bearing wall rarely match. That way the architrave covers the joint neatly on both sides without packing pieces.

Usually not. The new frame is fixed to the subframe or wall and the architraves cover the joint; at most, a little paint touch-up is needed.
04Which doors keep out more noise?
Solid-core leaves with a seal in the frame. Hollow-core doors are light but let more sound through, so we keep them for rooms where privacy matters less.
