From hood to duct: how we fit it
In areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta, kitchens are often narrow and the duct has to cross wall units or a false ceiling. We route it with few bends, carry debris down narrow stairs in sacks and work within the building's agreed hours.
The duct decides how well the hood extracts: in areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we use rigid duct matching the motor outlet, with as few bends as possible and joints sealed with aluminium tape. That cuts noise and stops grease building up.

02Ducted or recirculating hood?
A ducted hood removes steam, grease and smells; a recirculating one filters smells but returns moisture to the kitchen. If a duct can be run outside, that is the option we recommend.
03At what height should the hood go?
The manufacturer sets it for each model and type of hob; it is usually a little higher over gas than over induction. We also adjust it to your height so it does not get in the way.
04Can I reuse the old hood's duct?
If the diameter is large enough and the duct is clean and intact, yes. A narrow duct or one with many bends reduces extraction and adds noise, so we check it first.
