How we plan a wardrobe interior
In buildings in areas such as El Raval, El Barri Gòtic and La Barceloneta it is common to use the space between two partitions or beside a boxed-in soil pipe. We build a carcass that keeps the pipe's access panel clear and bring materials up within the hours the building sets.
In areas such as La Dreta de l'Eixample, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and Sant Antoni we plan the interior around what you keep: double-height rails for shirts, a tall section for coats, soft-close drawers, a pull-out shoe rack and a trouser rail.

02Sliding or hinged doors?
Sliding doors need no room to open and suit tighter bedrooms. Hinged doors show the whole interior at once and blend more neatly into the wall.
03Can a fitted wardrobe go where there is no alcove?
Yes. We build the recess with a plasterboard partition or by closing off a corner, then fit the wardrobe inside. We plan it during the visit around the bedroom layout.
04How deep does a fitted wardrobe need to be?
Around 60 cm to hang clothes comfortably. With less depth, pull-out front rails work, or the wardrobe can be given over to shelving.
