Removing loose pieces
We take down render, cornice fragments or tiles that could fall to the street.
-
Protecting the pavement
We cordon off the area and fit netting where needed while we work.
-
Treating reinforcement
We clean off rust and passivate the steel in balcony edges and slab fronts.
-
Rebuilding
We restore the original shape with repair mortar, respecting mouldings and edges.
-
Matching finish
Paint or render in the same shade so the repair blends in.
Balconies, cornices and render: where the damage starts
In 1960s and 70s buildings in areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal and Hostafrancs, the steel in slab edges has little concrete cover and, as it rusts, it bursts the concrete. We arrange roof access with the property manager and cordon off the pavement before breaking anything out.
For cornices and mouldings on façades in areas such as La Bordeta and La Font de la Guatlla, we take the profile before breaking out and reproduce it in layers of mortar, keeping arrises and projections. The element regains its original shape and once again throws rain clear of the wall.
Over 20 years in building repair: a visit, a written quote item by item and an orderly job, with the street protected while we work. Other areas we cover close by: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Making safe loose façade elements in Sants-Montjuïc: which areas do you cover?
We work in Sants-Montjuïc in areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal, Hostafrancs, La Bordeta, La Font de la Guatlla, El Poble-sec, La Marina de Port and La Marina del Prat Vermell, and also nearby: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.
02A piece of the façade has already fallen. What should we do first?
Cordon off the area below and contact us. Our first step is to remove the remaining loose pieces to eliminate the risk; the permanent repair is then set out in the quote.
03Is scaffolding needed?
On most façades, no. We use rope access, working on twin ropes from the roof, so the pavement is not taken up by structures and windows are not covered.
04Can you carry out the repairs listed in an inspection report?
Yes. With the building inspection report in hand, we check each point on the façade and quote for each repair item separately.
