When a terrace leaks: what we check
In areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal and Hostafrancs all materials often have to come up a narrow staircase or a small lift. We bring membranes and tiles in manageable sizes, take rubble down in bags and protect the landing and shared areas while we work.
On terraces in areas such as La Bordeta and La Font de la Guatlla we replace old outlets with ones whose flange bonds to the waterproofing and, if needed, add an overflow. Before closing up we check that the downpipe drains freely and is clear.
After the visit and written quote, the site manager carries out a flood test before the floor goes down, and we clear all rubble when we finish. Nearby areas we also cover: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.

Frequently asked questions
01Terrace renovation in Sants-Montjuïc: which areas do you cover?
We work in Sants-Montjuïc in areas such as Sants, Sants - Badal, Hostafrancs, La Bordeta, La Font de la Guatlla, El Poble-sec, La Marina de Port and La Marina del Prat Vermell, and also nearby: Eixample, Les Corts and Ciutat Vella.
02Does the floor have to come up to fix a leak?
Almost always. The leak is usually in the waterproofing or at an outlet, under the tiles. Adding another layer on top without checking the substrate only postpones the problem.
03Which flooring is right for an outdoor terrace?
Non-slip outdoor porcelain that resists frost and temperature changes, laid with flexible adhesive and movement joints.
04Can a terrace be waterproofed without replacing the tiles?
Clear membranes and coatings applied over the tiles work where the falls and outlets are in good order. On the visit we assess whether that is enough or the substrate needs rebuilding.
